A call to action (CTA) tells the reader what to do next. Learn how to write email CTAs that improve clicks, replies, and conversions.
A call to action (CTA) is the part of an email that prompts the reader to take a specific next step. In email, a CTA might be a button, a linked phrase, or a simple instruction like “Reply with a time that works.”
Effective CTAs are clear, specific, and aligned with the reader’s intent. Instead of vague prompts like “Learn more,” a stronger CTA might be “See pricing,” “Book a 10-minute demo,” or “Reply with your top priority.”
To improve results, keep the number of CTAs limited and make the primary CTA visually and verbally obvious. Also reduce friction by making the action easy: short forms, direct links, or a reply-based CTA for cold outreach.
